Sounding more Detroit than Stockholm, Up Hygh, the new wonder-kid hip-hop/soul
production duo, consisting of Pure-P and Rick Skizzo, are poised, at the ripe
age of 19, to literally reinvent the ôswedish soundö, and put Scandinavia
squarely on the map on par with uber-talented underground production teams like
the Ummah, Sa-Ra Creative Partners, and Platinum Pied Pipers. Up HyghÆs unique
sound is a pressure-cooked mixture of sexy deepspace funk, soulful r&b, and raw,
dirty hip-hop. And thatÆs just scratching the surface. The buzz has already
begun to spread with their hot promos getting regular spins by notable selectors
like Gilles Peterson, Benji-B, Bobbito, Vadim, Jazzanova and Richy Pitch. With
the release of their debut single ôLove Dat / The Giftö in Mya of 2005, they
have already delivered a challenge to up the ante. How hygh? Up up to the skyà
