     From the Label
Kitty Jay is a collection of songs written and inspired by the
stories and legends of SethÆs birthplace and home of
Dartmoor--itÆs an ambitious disc that attempts to capture the
spirit and atmosphere of the wilderness of the moor. Ambitious
it may be but heÆs certainly succeeded. Over the 11 tracks he
creates an impressively dark and brooding atmosphere, but this
is contrasted by lighter and sweeter passages spread
throughout û itÆs a disc that feels natural and balanced.

     Description
Second album from Devon folk singer songwriter, recorded for
300 pounds in the kitchen of his country cottage in the heart
of Dartmoor. Deliberately isolating himself in order to tap
into the rustic, mystical nature of the place, he came up with
this dark set of originals and traditionals which hasa raw,
almost rock-like edge and has seen him compared to such folk
giants as Richard Thompson and Nic Jones.
