RELEASE NOTES:
LowerB discovers he has a strong affinity for music thanks
to John Coltrane listening.
His experiences in contemporary, classical and jazz music,
but also musicology make him understand that what attracts
him in music is mainly spirit communion, but also exploring
virgin sound territories.
In 2001, playing concerts with his jazz quartet in Europe
and USA doesn't satisfy him anymore. At the same time,
computer-assisted music is exploding and offers new
opportunities to boundlessly combine sound materials : a new
world for him that is ready to be exploredà
But how to integrate this european and afroamerican music
heritage into this new way of composing music ?
ô Listen to the musicö is the result of a two-year recording
studio work where LowerB recreated his universe from
heterogeneous elements, a kind of Bj÷rk and Miles Davis
fusion, linked together by soli of this virtuoso saxophonist
(listen to his several minutes incredible solo on ôDeep in
my mindö )
The listener is floating into a light and shade landscape ,
led by asymmetrical rythms and the lyrical and turbulent
monologue of the saxophon.
