     having spent a year putting together a studio in london waldeck    
     began to mix tracks for house and techno labels such as choci's    
     chewns. back in vienna he was infected by the early triphop/       
     leftfoot/ dopeheadz sound and completely rearranged the vocal      
     tracks he had recorded with incognito's joy malcolm. by chance, the
     rearranged tracks reached the ears of messrs kruder & dorfmeister  
     who immediately agreed to produce them.during a series of all night
     sessions which followed on from his job in a vienna law firm, the  
     besuited waldeck recorded "northern lights" which was an           
     international critical success. amongst other accolades, the       
     stand-out track "aquarius" was named single of the month by "muzik"
     magazine 12/96. since then, waldeck has been both expanding and    
     refining his sound and now presents the laid back fruits of his    
     labour: "balance of the force" .                                   
     if massive attack's "mezzanine" is for the sunday morning post-club
     comedown, then waldeck's "balance of the force" is for those warm  
     summer evenings when you're packing your wetsuit and preparing for 
     an evening dive. the plane leaves tonight for jamaica. some miles  
     out to sea you'll encounter lee scratch perry's sunken ark and look
     for the rumoured lost master tapes. don't forget your underwater   
     cigarettes!
