brought to you by the wonderful folks at satellite k (responsible for the
recent and very excellent 'barcelona raval sessions'), this masterful set
of downbeat delights combines the soul of the barcelona "sound" with the
sophistication of paris as per the likes of the ever popular 'hotel
costes' series - in fact compiler and mixer david de barce is a current
resident dj at the actual hotel costes in paris. with a deft mix of both
the "known" (roy budd "get carter" theme, the mighty bop, tim "love" lee,
lemon jelly, tosca, crazy penis, troublemakers) and "obscure" quality
gems, this set is suitably lush yet gently propulsive in just the right
places. against the 'k&d sessions', the undisputed "king" of the downbeat
mix cds, 'barcelona paris second flight' sits very favourably, and has the
same kind of wide appeal. suave, delicious, get the full smokecds.com
recommendation too.
