Bastard Jazz Recordings was formed in 2001 with the intent on
releasing quality, North American produced downtempo, trip-hop,
acid jazz and dub music solely on vinyl to an international
audience. This CD is a compendium of the backcatalogue thus far,
some tracks have been released on vinyl, and others are set to be
released on wax in the near future. Many of these artists have
record contracts with other labels, and use psuedonyms with Bastard
Jazz for purposes of legality - ex: "Spooky Monkey" and "Shmack" are
actually Shadow Records artist's Saru and Mujaji, respectively.
