French easy listening-meets-new wave duo Nouvelle
Vague are to return shortly with second album
'Bande A Part', another set of sultry reworkings
of all your favourite punk and new wave staples.
This time, however, Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux
have reportedly cast their net of influence a
little further than the sweet bossa nova stylings
            of their self-titled 2004 debut.

            There's a Caribbean-tinged version of Blondie's
'Heart Of Glass' and a rendering of Bauhaus'
vampiric classic 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' which is as
much informed by Haitian voodoo sounds as it is by
            any European gothic influence.

In addition, numerous assembled Left Bank
chanteuses are called upon to tackle Echo & The
Bunnymen's 'The Killing Moon', New Order's 'Blue
Monday', Buzzcocks' 'Ever Fallen In Love' and The
            Cramps' 'Human Fly', among others.
