out this month ôchill receptionö is the debut album for bluecat,
produced by william bottin for irma records italy and worldwide
distributed.
the aim of the project is to join harmony and musicality such as
in jazz and funk with beats and new sounds from the electronic
scene.the album is an eclectic work that includes breakbeat and
jazz house tracks as well as more downtempo and chill out moments.
william bottin, who plays keyboards, trumpet and guitar, is
currently working in the music department of fabrica, benetton
research center originally funded by photographer oliviero
toscani.
in the last few years william has joined forces with the italian
jazz/swing songwriter sergio caputo and is now remixing on of his
classic tunes.
recently william and giorgio collodet (fabrica) produced the music
for the undercolors of benetton tv commercial (by danis tanovic,
director of no man's land, awarded in cannes 2001), he also
composed the soundtrack for "once and future queen", a feature
film by american director todd verow (bangorfilm) which was
awarded at the chicago underground filmfest and was also presented
at the locarno international film festival.
william bottin is one of the most interesting artists of the
present generation. his style could be classified as electronica
with a jazz influence but definitions don't quite fit this
eclectic composer. his vast musical background blends to form a
personal and unique style of its own kind. -- sergio caputo
