"Alfredo Costa Monteiro has been challenging the borders of
improvised music since '95, exploring visual arts, visual
poetry and sound. His radical use of minimal objects blew a
weird hole in my mind when he performed in the FeF store a few
weeks back, scraping the accordion surface with dense flames
in the eyes. He has peformed with a seemingly endless list of
players such as Peter Kowald, Mattin, Margarida Garcia, Mark
Wastell, Giuseppe Ielasi, Ernesto Rodrigues, Masahiko Okura,
