What a strange name does one say, the first time it
is evoked in a hushing voiceà
What is the cathouse, who are its tenants, who is
the marquise and most importantly, what invites you
to lend an ear ? These questions will be answered
by going away, into the 7 titles of this production
in between electric strings and synthesisers...
The CathouseÆs mini album takes you on a one-way
trip amongst instrumentalist (basses and guitars)
then brings you back to the future in a dimension
where you need toy lips to embrace the courtÆs
gameà
ôBloody Hoursö is the name of this first project,
the explosive and fusional encounter of Laurent,
singer of the rock band FEVERISH
(http://feverish.free.fr), and Hip-hop/Trip Hop
Beatmaker Undergnome. As both of them live in
Grenoble, the encounter came up naturally. Time
passes, FEVERISHÆs discs are released one after the
other (Lorsque Mes DΘsirs Se Heurtent A La RΘalitΘ,
Bunker Party EP, La mort du Cygne, à) while
UndergnomeÆs underground but strangely familiar
projects (eGnominie, Rives PostEluviennes, A
LÆInstinct 1 & 2) come out just as quickly.
An adventure at a crossroad of rhythm universes,
The Cathouse is everything but a side-project.
With hypnotic synthetic reveries (My Lovely Girl)
and a shadowy score enveloped with a voice which
closely marries the melody (Robot Boy And Cherry
Girl), The Cathouse recreates a bridge of forgotten
sound, when machines were young, living in harmony
with voices as charismatic as they were
