An incredible record -- of the sort we never would have expected!
Sure, Nelson Riddle's best known for his orchestrated backdrops for
singers -- but here, he steps out in breezy set of MPS groovers
that are totally outta site all the way through! The album's an
amazing blend of strings, jazzy soloing, bossa rhythms, sweeping
orchestrations, and more -- all arranged with the kind of spacey
airy sound that you'd find on some of the best MPS albums of the
Snowflakes generation. Claus Ogerman produced the set along with
Riddle -- and he brings a nice emphasis on the electric bass to the
session, giving the whole thing a nice bottom that really rounds
out the tunes! Includes the cuts "Lamento", "Naomi", "My Life",
"Sao Paulo", and "Changing Colors".
