The second single from Hefner's championed debut album "Residue",
is a soulful sung collage of sweeping violins, delicate vocals by
     JosΘe Hurlock and jazz-laced keyboards.
It's a healthy home for your daydreams to settle in. Both remixes
stick faithfully to the vocal, Blues States remove the airiness
and plump the bass up whilst Grand Central's Only Child reverts
back to the dance arena with electo stabs and crisped-up beats.

Hefner is the alter-ego of Lee Jones, 26, originally from
Billericay, Essex, now resident in Kennington, South London. Lee
first started making music as a student at York University where
he studied Film & Television. There he learnt how to use a
computer to make music and used the Hefner moniker to add
soundtracks to his own and other students' film projects. He
quickly found that music was what he had to do and since leaving
university he hasn't looked back. Lee signed to Inertia in 1997.
Using the traditional musical methods of melody and composition as
well as considerable programming and production skills he creates
music that fuses many forms. He is influenced as much by what he
sees as what he hears and to name a few of the artists he's
inspired by he lists Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell,
Antonio Carlos Jobim, Photek, Laurie Anderson, Sidney Lumet, Nick
Drake, Alfred Hitchcock, Timbaland, Debussy, Herbie Hankcock,
Prince, A Tribe Called Quest, Sam Pekinpah, Airto, Company Flow,
Bjork, Woody Allen, Saul Bass, and every great drummer, in no
particular order. He's also been inspired by London's current crop
of cutting-edge producers like J. Swinscoe and I.G. Culture
