::| Nada is the second realworld manifestation in the shape of an audio cd |::
::| precipitated by pxp on impulse of hamburg based experimental music |::
::| label dekorder. Much in the style of an earlier work , |::
::| ''while(p){print''.'','' ''x$p++}'', wavetrap, 2002, which has received |::
::| an honourable mention in digital musics at ars electronica the same |::
::| year for being perceived as ''a jutting mass of digitized disturbance |::
::| that fueled our direct reckoning with destabilized mathematics'' by the |::
::| jury, Nada represents a snapshot of the landscape a couple of |::
::| metamorphoses further down the same n-dimensional road, 5 < n < |::
::| \\infty/2, but giving in to a slight pull from self-sufficient, |::
::| specialized systems living in close proximity to more open, general |::
::| purpose communication networks. |::

::| A 'subunit' of Farmers Manual, PXP is a complicated affair if you take |::
::| their biography at face value. Loaded with divergent ideas relating to |::
::| sound mapping and the deconstruction of sound methodologies, PXP have |::
::| created a complicated disc here. Sonically too this recorded document |::
::| seems to suggest an interest in breaking apart the ideas of sound |::
::| relationships. The first two pieces for instance both play with notions |::
::| of melodic and rhythmic understandings. As the disc wears on these |::
::| relationships begin to take on more sinister textures and dynamic |::
::| shifts. Silence becomes a tool for creating expectation and assault. |::
::| Just as a piece of music filters away and you have a momentary |::
::| reprieve, PXP drop into another textural explosion. The sixth piece |::
::| almost sounds like a concrete treatment of euro-hard trance, the groove |::
::| is largely removed, and the melodic content obliterated with some well |::
::| placed granular distortion. There's method here, madness too, but |::
::| whether this album calls for repeated visits it's hard to say. No |::
::| matter what it remains a worthwhile listening experience. |::
