██▓▓ Wow! Some proper techno with this EP featuring tracks ██▓▓
██▓▓ from The Moderator, Theiz and TV-99-AD. This whole EP ██▓▓
██▓▓ has a really warm feeling and gives me wonderful ██▓▓
██▓▓ memories from the nights spent listening to the like ██▓▓
██▓▓ of Panic in Detroit etc. Lovely strings and harmony ██▓▓
██▓▓ ... one for the soul. ██▓▓
██▓▓ ██▓▓
██▓▓ Did the recent Plaid reissue of all the old Black Dog ██▓▓
██▓▓ classics signal an intelligent techno revival? The ██▓▓
██▓▓ four tracks here are all melodic, midtempo numbers ██▓▓
██▓▓ solidly constructed out of syncopated drum ██▓▓
██▓▓ architectures and draped in emotive synth pads. That ██▓▓
██▓▓ they're not anything new doesn't detract from the ██▓▓
██▓▓ pleasure of playing these timeless takes on Motor ██▓▓
██▓▓ City soul. "Tenth" is particularly luscious, wrapping ██▓▓
██▓▓ a chiming monotone over a growling bassline and ██▓▓
██▓▓ throwing a chopped-up breakbeat into the mix for just ██▓▓
██▓▓ a hint of disturbance. Well worthwhile. ██▓▓
