"I am Dead - Worship me"
This CD comprises of the BDN - Pain in Progress cassette
(CMI.03) released in 1988. Ten years later and Roger Karmanik
re-releases the album with another six pernicious tracks (recorded
1988-1990) further defining the fulsome machines of BDN (At that
time vaguely defined as Bomb the Day Nursery). While a far cry
from the latest noise that Mr. Karmanik stirs in the Cold Meat
pot, Pain in Progress is a paradigm of the last decade of the
20th Century, which would see a sheer volume of noise and
death industrial explode into the Underground.
Elements of this album sound lo-fi and at times one can hear the
degradation of time and analogue recording, however, that only fuels the
fire (just make sure to swivel that volume dial to max)
The album begins with an on switch, a casual flick of the hand sets in
motion an inspissating mechanical oscillation that will either repel or
serve as sublime prelude to the debut of Pain in Progress and the legacy
that followed. From there the drones are mixed with languorous, metallic
rhythms tinted with sere distortion that colours the audio legato &
staccato. Plaintive feedback howls while additions of recorded vocals
show another side to the bleak and oppressive nature of BDN. Of the
collected tracks of the tape, all but track 1 and track 7 are comprised
of boiler rooms and death camps. Tracks 8-14 enrich the packed release
showing the divagation of BDN's sonic assault; ghosts haunt sepulchres
about the catafalqueÆs their bodies rest on, while apocalyptic explosions
erupt - chthonic disintegrations bury alive any gainsayers, and rightly so.
While you may not be one of the elite who has the original tape, save
those rare few with enough time and money to snatch at will from Ebay.com,
Pain in Progress stands out as dulcet jewel set in the crown of
industrial noise, a peroration of death that will stand the test of time.

Brighter Death Now is the personal project of Roger
Karmanik. BDN was the original death industrial act, combining
whitehouse-style walls of white noise with churning repetitive
sounds and obscure subject matter. The imagery involves death,
obsession, child molestation, and psychosis. However, Karmanik
never misses the opportunity to show the dark humorous side
of his personality; his BDN persona switches between petulant
spoiled-brat little girl and serial killer at the drop of a
hat.

Hi chaps! This is the new retrofuturistic "back to the future"
obso-leet AMOK nfo hybridising oldskool ASCII art and YAML.
As a possible first in the scene (is it really?), we provide an nfo
that is designed to be both human and machine readable.
It is not so interesting for the average joe ripper listener but it
will be a useful tool for siteops, nukers, dupedb and archives
curators.
Why this?
Because we need a structure that can support metadata and UTF8.
As years pass, dirnames are getting stuffed with more and more
metadata. It is impossible to parse 100% reliably because dirnames
are just not designed to be storage for heterogenous metadata.
With id3v2, vorbis and .yml.nfo files, we can fix this problem,
we can have a more reliable dupechecking, automate common tasks,
filter and sort releases based on different metadata, such as
label and have more useful subgenres e.g. acid techno, deep house,
djent...
With .yml.nfo, you do not need read access to the media files and
id3 metadata, you can automate mandatory fields checks (eg. source
codec, purchase url)
nfo files supporting the yaml format should have the extension
.yml.nfo
e.g. 00-alice-bob-cd-2018.yml.nfo
The schema_version tag allows that nfo format to evolve and stay
compatible. The current schema will be published in the near
future to make sure all .yml.nfo released will use the same
structure and set of keys.
