With the sunshine and lilt of Silly Wizard and Old Blind Dogs,
Ecosse inhabits a supple and rich world of Celtic traditional
music, Quebecois dance music, world beat and standard, hearty
folk rock. Driven by a delightful hiccupping playfulness
between the greenly spirits of Scotland and a broad
international approach to folk, the album cultivates a
charming innocence and hearfelt sweetness. With guitar at the
center, The Auld Alliance fleshes out through fiddle,
hand-drumming, light percussion, bagpipes and various other
striking instrumental colors, imbuing every track with zesty
personality and inspiration.
