Spawned from the pink sulfur skies of Sao Paulo, Brazil, this project is the
combined work of artists; ROB MAZUREK (MANDARIN MOVIE, ISOTOPE 217, CHICAGO
UNDERGROUND, EXPLODING STAR ORCHESTRA) on cornet/electronics and MAURICIO TAKARA
(HURTMOLD, M. TAKARA) on percussion/electronics. Creatively, TAKARA and MAZUREK
chose to expand their already diverse musical pallet even further, incorporating
ideas of modern electronics, dub, free samba, rock, jazz and maracatu, yet while
maintaining a strong musical cohesiveness from the recordings beginning to end.
The albums opening track recalls FENNESZS Endless Summer with its warmth and
hazy electronic sound-scapes, while its ending presents unclassifiable sound
construction of TIAGO MESQUITAS words and futuristic phantom carnaval melody and
rhythm. Sandwiched between are five diverse, texturally rich tracks covering a
variety of sonic palettes. Recorded from August to November in 2005 at Rocha
Studios in Sao Paulo, this is the groups debut release, and features
contributions from Sao Paulos vibrant music community: HURTMOLD, MARCOS AXE,
TIAGO MESQUITA percussion, voice, samplers, guitars, synthesizers, WAYNE
MONTANA & DAMON LOCKS (both of The Eternals Aesthetics) - synthesizers, JOSH
ABRAMS (Town & Country) electric bass, and New Yorker, CHAD TAYLOR (Chicago
Underground) on drums.
