| | Kraftwerk, lit. "power station") is a German band | |
| | formed in Dusseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hⁿtter and | |
| | Florian Schneider. Widely considered as innovators | |
| | and pioneers of electronic music, they were among | |
| | the first successful acts to popularize the genre. | |
| | The group began as part of West Germany's | |
| | experimental krautrock scene in the early 1970s | |
| | before fully embracing electronic instrumentation, | |
| | including synthesizers, drum machines, and vocoders. | |
| | | |
| | On commercially successful albums such as Autobahn | |
| | (1974), Trans-Europe Express (1977), The Man-Machine | |
| | (1978), and Computer World (1981), Kraftwerk | |
| | developed a self-described "robot pop" style that | |
| | combined electronic music with pop melodies, sparse | |
| | arrangements, and repetitive rhythms, while adopting | |
| | a stylized image including matching suits. Following | |
| | the release of Electric Cafe (1986), Wolfgang Flⁿr | |
| | left the group in 1987, followed by percussionist | |
| | Karl Bartos in 1990. Founding member Schneider left | |

| | The band's work has influenced a diverse range of | |
| | artists and many genres of modern music, including | |
| | synth-pop, hip hop, post-punk, techno, ambient, and | |
| | club music. In 2014, the Recording Academy honoured | |
| | Kraftwerk with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. | |
| | They later won the Grammy Award for Best | |

| | Catalogue (2017) at the 2018 ceremony. As of 2020, | |

| | Electric CafΘ is the ninth studio album by the | |
| | electronic group Kraftwerk, originally released in | |
| | 1986. In October 2009 it was re-released under its | |
| | original working title, Techno Pop. The initial 1986 | |
| | Electric Cafe came in versions sung in English and | |
| | German, as well as a limited Edicion Espa±ola | |
| | release, featuring versions of "Techno Pop" and "Sex | |
| | Object" with only Spanish lyrics. It was the first | |
| | Kraftwerk LP to be created using predominantly | |
| | digital musical instruments, although the finished | |
| | product was still recorded onto analog master tapes. | |

| | The Mix is a remix album by German electronic music | |
| | band Kraftwerk. It was released on 11 June 1991 | |
| | through Kling Klang and EMI in Europe and through | |
| | Elektra Records in North America. It featured re- | |
| | recorded and, in some cases, re-arranged versions of | |
| | a selection of songs which had originally appeared | |
| | on the albums Autobahn (1974) through Electric CafΘ | |
| | (1986). Ralf Hⁿtter stated in interviews that he | |
| | regarded The Mix as a type of live album, as it | |
| | captured the results of the band's continual digital | |
| | improvisations in their Kling Klang studio. The band | |
| | had made a return to the stage in 1990, after a | |
| | nine-year hiatus from touring, and since then the | |
| | band's live setlist has used arrangements drawn from | |
| | The Mix rather than the original recordings. | |
