Having met in the less than futuristic environs of Hull
University, Team Doyobi soon evolved into 8-bit Skam warriors -
with this new 7" another spoke in their electronic cavalcade.
Always at the more obtuse end of the electronic-spectrum, Team
Doyobi are still at the forefront of the electronica cabal, mixing
undulating analogue and fizzing circuitry to satisfying effect.
Starting with the A, Doyobi seem to be following a similar
trajectory to Matmos - with the intricacies of their compositions
never cluttering the listener (think Space Invaders being played
out in a digital cavern), whilst on the back it's a similar story
as a breed of modem-ruptured funk is introduced deep within the
wires. If you like your Skam, you'll love this. Limited copies!
