Frozen Modules, Bal Cath, Electronic Music Composer, Reverse Commuter
and The Premature Wig, Ken Gibson has produced several albums and
countless remixes and singles on technoÆs most highly regarded
imprints. City Slang, Hallucination Limited, Orac, U-ZiqÆs Planet Mu,
Safety ScissorsÆ Proptronix, Kid 606Æs Tigerbeat 6, Tino Corp and
many others have been graced with his leading-edge studio skills.
Varying sound with pseudonyms from dark, murky techno to intelligent,
melodic electro to dubbed out, driving tech house, Gibson admits
that, "working on tracks is a way of life." Most recently, in the
wake of two full-lengths for Kit ClaytonÆs San Francisco-based
Orthlorng Musork as Eight Frozen Modules, Gibson strikes again as The
Premature Wig with Problem Among Witnesses, forthcoming on Los
AngelesÆ Skor Records.
In keeping with his luscious tech house sound, in 2004, Gibson also
began his journey on fellow LA staple, Headinghome Recordings with a
remix ("Believe," The Premature Wig Sideways Shuffle Remix) and a
handful of original EPs (Foreign Sway, Devious Turnip and a series of
collaborative acid records with label founder Hawkeye). He has been
praised in the pages of industry bibles such as Wire and XLR8R and
with a continuously active production schedule, his career shows no
signs of slowing. Ken spends the nocturnal hours working the dance
floor with his live shows and DJ performances.
