Holland-based NIKITOV is an acoustic ensemble that plays
Yiddish songs and Klezmer accented by the rhythms and sounds
of Gypsy Jazz and East European folk music. Called one of the
best of the new Yiddish folksong ensembles (klezmershack.com),
the band members combine their ideas in producing a unique
approach that harnesses the drive and energy of these related
musical traditions while capturing the emotion and depth of
the Yiddish text. Featuring the stunningly beautiful vocal
interpretations of Niki Jacobs backed by a powerhouse group of
creative instrumentalists, Nikitov has performed throughout
Europe and the United States since 2000.

"Quite simply, Niki Jacobs has one of the nicest voices for
singing Yiddish I've heard in a long time...one of the best of
the new Yiddish folksong ensembles." klezmershack.com

Vanderlust, the Yiddish equivalent to the familiar word
meaning "a lust for travel and new experiences" is the perfect
title for this new recording by Nikitov, the band that
performs Yiddish songs on both sides of the Atlantic. Travel
from shtetl to shtetl...Nikitov ventures into ethereal
vocal/guitar duets and wild romps on a horse buggy ride over
the dirt roads of Eastern Europe. Fronted by Yiddish song
maven Niki Jacobs, this new recording captures the sonic depth
and unpredictability of the live shows and their deep sense
     for improvisation and groove.

     Niki Jacobs - voice
     Jelle van Tongeren - violin
     Adam Good - acoustic guitar
     Jason Sypher - acoustic bass
