     Get Busy Committee was formed in Los Angeles, California, by longtime
     friends Ryu, Apathy and Scoop DeVille. They claim their influences come
     from Eazy-E, BBD (Bell Biv DeVoe), and BDP (Boogie Down Productions). All
     production is done by Scoop DeVille and Apathy, while vocals are given by
     everyone in the group.

     WhatÆs not to love about a group with an unhealthy obsession with both
     cocaine and Will Smith? ThatÆs right, nothing. GBC took the KnifeÆs
     near-perfect electro-pop jam ôHeartbeatsö and turned it into ôMy Little
     Razorbladeöùa goddamn masterpiece of darkness and debauchery.

     The crewùmade up of Ryu (Styles of Beyond, Demigodz), Apathy (Demigodz,
     Army of the Pharaohs) and Scoop DeVille (Kid FrostÆs son!)ùsampled songs
     that nobody would ever want to hear again and somehow made them work. For
     example ôStylish Clothesö utilizes Wreckx-N-EffectÆs ôRumpshakerö, which
     reinterprets part of El DeBargeÆs ôI Like Itö.

     ItÆs like the Matrix of weird samples. And lyrics like, ôI can shoot a
     balloon and make it look sexy/ ItÆs a hard rock life I live it out of
     focus/ Looking for a vein to spike before IÆm dope sickö (from the track
     ôShoot Me Upö) are so interesting and intelligent that young Americans will
     never catch on, which is actually a good thing.

     The GBC crafted one of the only evocative hip-hop albums of the 2009, but
     nobody will ever hear it over Mos DefÆs ôsinging voiceö that doubles as a
     dog whistle.
