Moa Bay debuts on Piston Recordings with the fantastic La Souris
EP. Most known for dealing in deep cuts and soulful sounds, Moa
Bay brings a passion for house music to his sets which is
paralleled with a wide range of styles and influences, creating
a wonderful dynamic in his sound. His love for music goes beyond
DJing and producing, he is a professional drummer, tutor and
avid record collector. It's these traits that take him beyond
and which allow him to express himself through music in
different ways. Great to have him on board.
La Souris offers up a real smooth, decadent slice of
live-sounding deep house vibes with a hybrid groove. A warm,
dancey bass accompanies a raw drum section which delivers
infectious rhythms throughout. Elongated trumpets and deep piano
chords are joined by classic Latino vocals which send out a slow
burning, sensual groove. Top-notch stuff, not to be missed.
Have Your Fruit is a mid-tempo mover that is sure to keep the
floor active. Strong beats and flurries of percussions create
fluid rhythms as a plucky bassline delivers a chaotic pattern.
Cool vocal shots and glittery synths litter the sound adding
character. On the break, those delicate synths dominate as the
bassline fades out before crashing back into full-on mode. A
must have, not doubt.
Sugar Sweet rounds up this superb EP, and does so with a
vibrant, upbeat house groove. Tight beats lead the way as
discofied guitar loops come through alongside a plucky bassline.
The bassline carries an extra level of funk which is
complimented by the cool vocals which give the track that club
vibe. A classic sounding mover that is going to keep the
dancefloor rocking for sure.
