░  This Melbourne-based three-piece band is a unique blend of ambient    ░
░  slide guitar (Richmond Brain), sparse beats (Greg Ryan) and a         ░
░  relaxed, sultry vocal style (Nerida Trask). The songs are poetic,     ░
░  atmospheric and employ a popular music format with a twist.           ░

░  The unconventional use of Richmond's slide guitar creates a strong    ░
░  emotive and dream like feel, which compliments Nerida's relaxed       ░
░  vocal style, at times reminiscent of Mazzy Star or Beth Orton.        ░

░  Where and How?                                                        ░
░  In early 2002, Catnip's independently released single Lullaby was     ░
░  chosen as single of the week on the Australian Music show             ░
░  'Auscultation' on 3PBS FM. In September 2002, Catnip recorded with    ░
░  Chris Thompson (JJJ/ABC) at his new Martin St Studios.                ░

░  The fruits of those sessions were released in late 2003 on the        ░
░  critically acclaimed Pink And Blue And Green EP, through Feral        ░
░  Media.                                                                ░
░                                                                        ░
░  The music on this EP utilises live sampling and real time signal      ░
░  modification by then-member Danny Jumpertz, as well as vintage        ░
░  analogue synthesisers to produce an ambient/dub influenced sound.     ░
░  The samples are primarily vintage analogue synthesisers and ambient   ░
░  sheets of guitar texture.                                             ░

░  Coinciding with the EP release were numerous gigs in Melbourne, a     ░
░  successful Sydney tour and more live radio performances. Pink And     ░
░  Blue And Green attracted airplay from 3RRR, 3PBS and Sydney's FBI.    ░
