Innocence, consciousness, warnings… Colossio crash-lands onto Duro
with his first full EP for the label. It's about time; a fellow
Mexican alchemist and kindred spirit, Colossio's dark disco melting
pot and strong political energy has bubbled to the same beat as label
imprint since the very beginning. Previously spotted on the label
remixing Theus Mago and Local Suicide in 2019, he's now back with
three formidable slabs of tightly-sprung timelessness and a remix from
Dominik Marz.
Each cut more foreboding than the last, 'Inocência' lives up to its
name as the most playful cut of the collection. A gently cascading
arpeggio takes the lead as classic Yello-style pitched vocals add fun
and human warmth to the mix. Dark but not devilishly so, it lures you
into Colossio's world, setting you up for the more up-tempo, late
night synth-heavy twist from Dominik Marz.
