John Gosling, known to many of you as the
innovative Wall Of Sound signing Mekon, has
announced the release of his third studio album
this northern summer.
"Something Came Up" will see Mekon collaborating
with a range of eccentric artist including Afrika
Bambaata, Roxanne Shante, Marc Almond and Kevin
Mooney. The first double A single set for release
on July 3 will include æBlood On The MoonÆ a work
between Bobby Gillespie and Suicide's Alan Vega.
On the flip is the infectious æBoy Bitten By A
LizardÆ featuring newcomer Phillippa, the single
comes complete with remixes from arthouse New
Yorker's Inflagranti and London's Padded Cell.
For the artwork, Mekon has enlisted the help of
fashion designer and collaborator Alexander
McQueen to provide the provocative sleeve imagery.
The full album "Something Came Up" will be
released on on 17th July through PIAS and Wall Of
Sound.
