As far as I heard, Straight Up 2001 is a sublabel of Oliver Portal's
Straight Up label and with that a nu era of the French deep house
school is initiated. Currently the whole world is at the dawn of a nu
era, and this is the soundtrack. The most conspicuous track is "I
Say", which should be a good example for certain "house producers" on
how to insert a preachermen speech the right way, so that the
possibly already deceased preachers are protected against the
uncomfortable situation of turning themselves around in their graves!
Besides that, it's so damn deep that you can only cry when you dance
to this track. Together with the other two easy grooving tunes, this
record is a must-buy for all real deep house luvaz - real power
arises from deep inner silence.
