The pile of bones in front of the old temple on the cover of this record
led me to the idea that I should once again go to the old burial site
that I visit every autumn. It is situated high in the mountains, it is
surrounded by the mystery, impermeable fog, and cold that will
immediately penetrate deep into everyone's bones. I will go on the road
early in the morning and put a new EP of Finnish CHAOSFORM into my
headphones. A band, whose record recently landed on my table. It is
still dark outside and the shadows in the streets are endlessly long.
Thrash metal combined with death metal, both mixed in a morbidly cruel
cocktail, tastes good for me and fits nicely my steps. The city ends and
I look back several times. Blood beats in my veins and the morning
forest is in front of me, steep trails and solitude. Every album is
connected with certain experience and I didn't stop listen to "Kill for
Honor" even in the burial ground. Everything has come together into the
one. Red eyes glowed in the dark corners, and I was glad to see Death
once again.
EP "Kill for Honor" contains six sharp, manifold songs that will pin you
on the wall. CHAOSFORM created an album, during whose listening I cannot
be at rest. I dance on the graves, visit the ruined tombs, I soak up rot
and fear. In this time full of over-production the Finns succeeded to
evoke emotions, crush me, and force me to headbang. The band has a
special and interesting feeling for melodies, it is different than many
others and it counts today. It is very pleasant to walk between old
bones, to perceive individual riffs, melodies, drumsÆ strikes. In
addition, the vocalist has a morbid voice, and one wants to scream with
him. Similar music should not be described; it should rather be listened
to and lived. A mix of more melodic death metal and sharp thrash metal
guitars must be suitable to anyone who falls into the coffins every
morning. The album is a big surprise for me this year and a big hope for
the future. Thrash death metal attack, after which only broken bones
remain! Very good!
