     RESOLVER is mostly an exercise in sounding delicate and melodic just long
     enough to lure unsuspecting listeners within range, and then hitting the
     distortion pedals and pouncing. The new Veruca Salt is a mighty riff-beast
     when it draws itself up to full size, especially on rockers like
     "Officially Dead." Producer Brian Liesegang has been working with Filter
     and Trent Reznor, and he cranks up the low-end wallop and blows up Post's
     hisses and whispers to savage volume.
