sunspots began in the summer of 2005 when lead singer/keyboardist Andrew Wood
and bass player Keith Sigel discovered a common interest: creating power pop
skewed by the angular lens of New York rock. The punched-up harmonies of Big
Star, the rousing melodrama of Wolf Parade melding with the understated guitar
and keyboard simplicity of Spoon, as well as a dash of Pixies' screech all came
to bear as a set of upbeat and epic songs took shape.
