On Sleeze, Eleanor Balson has finally left all classical
harmony and melody teachings behind to approach a kind of
hiphop flavored style without ever turning hiphop.
The music is clearly electronic-driven, but not always
sequenced, or if, at least not following the usual
quantizing schemes.
Nonetheless, all 13 tracks of the disc are SONGS, with
vocals, beat, arrangements, developing its own segment
within the Chicago music scene.
Soft Serve 2005 could get bigger than - let's say Bjork -
if you damn listeners out there would start to distinguish
innovative pop. Go and buy this disc!!
