Released on Beatservice in 2019, the debut collaborative album from
longtime collaborators Linnea Dale and Of Norway - real names Vegard
Wolf Dyvik and Christian Steenstrup - eventually gets the massive
remix treatment it deserved. Split over a trilogy of multi-flavoured
EPs, these revisits of some of 'Pets' highlight tracks cast a new
light upon the trio's own brand of velveteen, pop-infused joints and
bittersweet melodies.
First in line, 'Petit Pets' kicks off the series with a quartet of
polyamorous revamps from the hand of Of Norway themselves. The Oslo-
based duo gets going with the slo-drip, twilight romanticism of 'Wait
For The Morning' - emphasising on an epic bass buildup Trentemøller
wouldn't disown, beautifully contrasting with Linnea's suave vocals
and brittle melodic lines. Reeling out like fragmentary sequences of a
forlorn love flick, the song makes for a perfect balance of club-
readiness and mist-shrouded melancholia.
