Taken from Lee Mc Donald's "Sweet Magic" album, one of the most sought after,
rare and revered soul record, originally released on DEBBIE RECORDS (NJ, US) in
1981.
The song is a mellow 70s northern soul cover of The Carpenters classic.
Production and arrangements were conducted by top heavy weight musician RON
FOSTER, keyboardist of Ecstasy, Passion & Pain (72-75). Ron was also responsible
for prod & arrangement for many great bands such as Main Ingredient, The
Persuaders, Mc Fadden & Whitehead and did accumulative concerts on the stage
with Kool & the Gang, Earth, Wind & Fire, O Jays or The Stylistics.
TM JUKE (Tru Thoughts) who recently collaborated with sublime vocalist Alice
Russell did a stunning remixing job to give "We've only just begun" a young, hip
and modern dancefloor approach using all the good elements of retro stylings of
funk fuelled 1970s.
GRANT PHABAO and PATCHWORKS are currently working on additionnal remixes of the
song.
