Continuing Motech's path in 2014 of bringing new artists into the camp
alongside work from the label's founder, DJ 3000, we now turn to a new
EP by Siggatunez with his four-tracker, `In My Head'. Siggatunez
(Siggi Tunezia) was born in East Germany but has lived in Frankfurt,
Wales (UK) and Spain, and now resides in Berlin. But this nomadic
lifestyle has always been underpinned by one static foundation - his
passion for music. Early influences came from his parents who owned a
wide choice of Funk and Soul records, while his father also played in
a Jazz band. In fact, Funk and Soul still play an important role in
his understanding of music and it's evident when you hear his tracks.
The young Siggi also learned the piano, studying it for 8 years, until
later in 2004 he began producing his own music. At the time his
options were limited and so his output was sparse, but with a love of
mid-90s Hip Hop, he enjoyed 'screwing with beats', as he puts it.
