If you're feeling the weight of world on your shoulders right now- and
given the volume of bad news about, most of us are - then we'd highly
recommend giving this new single from Ache Baez a spin. Warm, heady
and rich in cute musical touches (jazzy electric guitar motifs,
rubbery bass guitar, manipulated female vocal samples and pudding-rich
Rhodes flourishes), title track 'Funk The World' is a fine fusion of
deep house nous and Balearic-flavoured nu-disco sass. The Mexican
producer continues in a similar tip on 'Fana Village', where snappy
MPC house beats come laden with reverb-laden, early morning vocal
samples, more ear-catching electric piano riffs and swirling string
samples. Listen on repeat and you might just forget - for a few
minutes at least - about global pandemics and local lockdowns.
