│ Oliver Schories is returning to 8 Bit Records after a year - with the
│ Monza EP. Hamburg-based Oliver has been a welcome addition to the
│ Germany house community for more than a decade now. After his latest
│ album, Paradigm, and a collaboration with Jan Blomqvist in the summer
│ of 2020, new original music will be out in January 2021 on Gorges and
│ Nick Curlys 8 Bit imprint. Opening with the title track, Monza, a
│ stab-led groove evolves organically adding nuanced layers and a rubbery
│ bass. Warm and inviting, the piano in the first break creates a
│ welcomed tension against the muted vocal ad libs. On the flipside, Levo
│ begins with more low end grunt. Melodics develop with time and form the
│ main groove hypnotising the listener before chord sweeps and whispered
│ vocals add warmth and musical depth.
