As both a solo artist and as a member of groups including Tangerine
Dream and Ash Ra Tempel, Klaus Schulze emerged among the founding
fathers of contemporary electronic music, his epic, meditative
soundscapes a key influence on the subsequent rise of the new age
aesthetic.
It is very difficult to speak of someone who literally started it
all, especially when I know that whatever good thing I say about
this genius of Electronic Music just won't do justice, and won't be
enough for a person who has had such an immense influence on the
musical scene as a whole, not only so-called 'EM' scene. This man
was always way ahead of his time, both musically and technically.
Except from Boxset regrading the Set:
I admit that I had the lunatic idea to do a set of various CDs with
newly recorded but yet unreleased music by KLAUS SCHULTZE. and I
dreamt of adding to that one historic concert recording. Carefully
I told Klaus: A set of five CDs could contain this-and-that and
would cost us this-and-that...
...but the amount of unreleased material of recent months was so
large, KS said: Why not 10 CDs? Ten? Great! I love those crazy ideas
no one else has or dares to carry into practice, and I tried to
carry over his spirit of adventure in KS' music into this project.
Who else had and still has the stamina and the vision, to do his
inventive "crazy" music for such a long period, and paved the way
for many others? Who else has the courage and spirit to release 10
hours of newly recorded music of a still active musician at once
(plus 2.5 hours of concerts)?

I spent quite a deal of the weekend travelling on the musical
journey of KS Airlines. I loved it! The Silver Edition is
magnificent. It has music for all moods. I offer my congratulations
to both Mr. Schulze and yourself; another successful project.

...he has not lost his musical vision. KS started it over 20 years
ago and still today can conjure up the phantastic muse to create
music that embodies the cosmic impact of the old classical masters
with the vibration of the modern age. There is certainly no other
artist in the E.M. genre that even comes close to him. All others
are even less than a pale imitation of his style.
If there was one thing a fan of electronic music should own and
cherish in the last ten years, the Silver Edition is it! It explores
the myrial possibilities of electronic sound and does it with a
depth of emotion that is striking in its range. From beautifully
hymnal to surreal and frightening, it's an amazing musical trip!

later rereleased in 2000 with a new cover but the same content.
