On January 11th, THE GLEAM, headed up to Sparta Sound in the heart
of Minnesota's Iron Range. Over four straight days, THE GLEAM,
with Rich Mattson and his one inch tape machine, tracked 12 songs,
leaving only once for one hour, "ta get some air, and some bean
soup". Mixing, again at Sparta Sound, began on February 10th and
continued for another four days.
Rich said the "mixing" took about a day, the rest of the time was
spent at Tunas. Then the project was sent to the wonderful ears
of Jon Tranberry at OBT studios for Mastering.
-----------
Three beautiful boys, from the same small town, went on an
adventure. It was to become legend. It all began when they were
digging out in the woods, adding on to their fort. When one of
them, prehaps the most beautiful, said..."I believe we shall
become a group, a band, yes a band called THE GLEAM!" This was
fine with the other two beautiful boys, since they had no friends.
Once they acquired some instruments, the talented beautiful boys
created the most gorgeous sound. With a steady, cool wind the
sound spread all around. Elders began to weep, children began to
dance, sweethearts made love, dogs did cats...it truly was a
beautiful sound. Luckily for you dear reader, the sound is still
around. Yes, and you can become a part of this tale...how?...well
that is easy, just go to see THE GLEAM when they are playin', or
get their records, and don't forget to tell yr friend.
