Release Notes:
After Sigur Ros left us desperate for a track with a little more than a
succession of crescendoÆs on their latest full length Takk (trust me, even if
you dont think youve heard it, you have) a gap has been left wide open for
tear inducing piano-led post rock wailing. Blueneck are a British four-piece
band and recorded æScars of the Midwest in Somerset with AlphaÆs Corin
Dingley. Starting deceptively, the record bubbles with atmosphere, creaks,
clanks and distorted piano wails before kicking into the baroque elegance of
æJudas! JudasÆ û a piano led theatrical beast of a track. æOigÆ features
reclusive, honest vocals, reminiscent of Bark Psychosis or Talk Talk, and the
combination of such incredible, diverse production makes what could have been
a predictable affair come alive with a penchant for risky edges. If youre
looking for epic without pomp or sweeping without all the crescendos then
youÆve come to the right place, Blueneck are a restrained success.
