| Hey Yawl, Joe Jones is a heavy brother! I mean he's a baddd piano |
| playing dude! And what's more, he is my teacher, my mentor, my |
| inspiration - the brother who had the most pervasive influence on my |
| piano style in my formative years. |
| |
| Some Dizzy Gillespie fans may recall Joe from his short sideman |
| association with the Dizz in the 1950's. Like myself, Joe hails from |
| Hampton, Virginia and to folks in those parts he is no stranger. |
| However, we are hopeful of affording him a much larger audience as we |
| feel he is most deserving. |

| You will note that he and I are playing together (different keyboards |
| of course) on "Fat Mouth" and "Turkish Bath". "What Are You Doing For |
| the Rest of Your Life" which is nothing short of superb and "Sweet |
| Georgia Brown" are features for the Joe Jones Trio. |
| |
| The remaining selections feature yours truly along with some fine |
| solo work from my long time associate and brother, Tommy Smith on |
| guitar. Trumpeter Alan Ruben makes his debut as a soloist and of |
| course we profoundly thank the other musicians comprising the various |
| rhythm sections used for their support and cooperation. |
| |
