█░█ Last year, The Charade was the soundtrack to my █░█
█░█ summer with their album "the best is yet to come" █░█
█░█ from 2005. Their sweet, breezy summer pop gave me █░█
█░█ sunshine even on rainy days, and I bet it gave me █░█
█░█ more happy summerdays than I would have had █░█
█░█ without it... So, when the snow started melting █░█
█░█ and the first springflowers appeared in my █░█
█░█ garden, I put on my Charade album. It works also █░█
█░█ in 2006. █░█
█░█ █░█
█░█ I am quite sure that this summer will be good. I █░█
█░█ don't need sunshine. I don't need hot summer █░█
█░█ days. I have a new album by The Charade! That's █░█
█░█ enough to give me my summery feeling inside. "A █░█
█░█ real life drama" is the title of their second █░█
█░█ release, and this time they make sure that no-one █░█
█░█ forgets their swedish origin. The album cover is █░█
█░█ coloured in yellow and blue, like the swedish █░█
█░█ flag, and they even have a support-song for the █░█
█░█ swedish football team in the world cup █░█
█░█ tournament, "dressed in yellow and blue". █░█
█░█ █░█
█░█ As last time, the songs are all high quality, █░█
█░█ both in music and lyrics. It's easy to expect POP █░█
█░█ songs like these to be shallow and meaningless, █░█
█░█ but these aren't. On the surface, the songs sound █░█
█░█ optimistic and carefree, but beneath the catchy █░█
█░█ popmelodies, there are a deeper ground. The █░█
█░█ sometimes bittersweet lyrics are perfect █░█
█░█ companions to the 60s- and 70s-inspired popsongs. █░█
█░█ There are more downtempo and midtempo tunes this █░█
█░█ time, but the catchiness is present on most of █░█
█░█ the songs, regardless of the BPM. I also like █░█
█░█ link to their first album; On "the best is yet to █░█
█░█ come" there is a song called "Stockholm january █░█
█░█ 2005". On this new one, there's a song called █░█
█░█ "Stockholm june 2006". Hope there will be a █░█
█░█ "Stockholm december 2007" next year... A jangly █░█
█░█ christmas song from The Charade will be █░█
█░█ perfect... █░█

█░█ With songs like the pop-pearl "My song to you", █░█
█░█ the highly melodic single "a tough decision" and █░█
█░█ the more melancholic "September", this album is a █░█
█░█ very good follow up to their fabulous debutalbum █░█
█░█ "the best is yet to come". People who like the █░█
█░█ music of other swedish bands like Sambassadeur █░█
█░█ and Acid House Kings will love this one too. █░█
