│ Scandinavian trance compiled by DJ Bakke │
│ │
│ Bakkelit is the new compilation from Spiral Trax. Here, with a few │
│ exceptions, we move away from the established Swedish acts, and on the │
│ other hand, give some fresh talent a chance. The album has been compiled │
│ by DJ Bakke, a 26 year old promising Swedish DJ that has been a Spiral │
│ Trax DJ for some years now. He has also been involved in the production │
│ of some tracks on Noma's first album. DJ Bakke is a regular guest at │
│ parties in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark and of course all over Sweden. │
│ │
│ │
│ Logarhythmic is a collaboration between two experienced producers: Morg, │
│ also known as Katayama, and Human Blue. Rocket Ride has already proven │
│ itself as a definite party tune in Sweden with its spoken rocket launch │
│ countdown sample. All in Swedish of course! │
│ │
│ Matenda with a new track called Stormchaser, a bit tougher than his │
│ usual morning sound. │
│ │
│ Professor Kompressor is another talented progressive producer from │
│ Gothenburg to watch out for. │
│ │
│ 'Calming Fender' is a beautiful guitar tinged morning tune by │
│ Chromosome; a duo from the middle of Sweden that already have been │
│ creating quite a buzz DJ-ing at underground parties around the world. │
│ │
│ ------- │
│ │
│ A phenolic resin or "Bakkelit" a revolutionary, non-flammable, early │
│ plastic. "The material of thousand uses," as it was called, made a │
│ splash in the 1920s, 30s and 40s. │
│ │
│ Bakelite's many uses allowed it to become a standard item in the family │
│ home of the rabbit or chicken napkin holders, salt and pepper shakers, │
│ or serving trays. │
│ │
│ Turing the depression Bakelite sold more than any other commercial │
│ product, and was loved by the public for its brilliant and cheerful │
│ colors and its affordability. In conclusion, Bakelite, an early plastic, │
│ represent an affordable solution for a unique and short time in history │
│ when a nation hinged on the edge of economic disaster and needed a │
│ cheerful substitute for the lost elegance of the 1920s. │
