The latest missive on SlothBoogie's Jamz offshoot comes courtesy of
Lowres, a Russia-based duo who already have releases on Minor Notes
and Housewax to their name. There's much to enjoy across the EP,
beginning with the musically expansive and intricately produced
'Janwary', a superb sample-house excursion that wraps filtered
orchestral samples and twinkling jazz piano around a chunky deep house
groove. Title track 'Mechta' is a deeper and warmer excursion notable
for the pair's use of interesting percussion sounds, while
'Morozenhoe' sits somewhere between dub house and Afro-tinged jazz-
house. Also impressive is closing cut 'Trenerovka', another patchwork
sample-house excursion featuring typically sub-heavy bottom-end.
