EMP003 - Tidy / Switch Back Smith is Tyrees's debut record; the first
vinyl release from Emperor Recordings.
Tyrees is an up and coming, London born and bred producer and DJ with
a heavy focus on breaks, bass and pads. His love for the elements of
the Hardcore, Jungle and Drum n Bass genres of the early to mid '90s
is principal to the formation of his style. In addition, his DJ sets
and choice of samples unmistakably exhibit a passion for a wider
spectrum of musical styles.
"Tidy" is a smooth and subtle journey; a gradually rising force
evolving with a beautiful pad, delicate bass and synth tones, chopped
breaks and mysterious vocals. It effortlessly transitions into a
melodic latter half, eventually concluding with a climactic, explosive
drum break. It has received particularly positive feedback and has
been praised by the artists Dark Sky, Weval, Warlock, Alexander Nut,
Shy One, Laurence Guy and Andy Lemay. It has also had a big impact on
