Hot on the heels of Warehouse Sessions Volume 2, this 3rd
installment finds Mark Stewart on a mission to head even deeper
into the heart of Techno with a double-headed session that's as
stripped down as it is relentless. "X" on the A-Side is a
gargantuan chug through a barely contained demented 4/4 spasm,
underpinned by distorted stabs and a hollow line in thumping
kick-drums. It's all fairly restrained until the half-way mark
when things suddenly go deep under the influence - a live session
of warbling dub stabs fed through a widescreen echo-chamber,
low-end psychosis that's just devastating...where the hell did
that come from?? "Only Yesterday" on the flip is a homage to Mr
Fingers, a slow, deep, pulsating House classic that utilises the
sort of padded bass progression that they just don't make any
more, caressed by pristine hi-hats and very little else, it's not
every day you here a sound so full made out of so little... The
absolute sickage.
