dz&k, a team for over six years, decided to call the act
dzihan&kamien to life in early 1998. both of them had come to
vienna as students, completing their music studies in 1994, only to
forget it all as soon as they graduated.the first success of their
band, mc sultan, came with the club-hit "der bauch", a burner with
pulsing percussion and oriental vibes, which was hailed as an
"epic" by the british press. dz&k delivered their next assault with
the vinyl debut release for "couch records" titled "code: no pork
please". the press went wild again, resulting in over 50 license
deals (up-to-date total). so it would be a small wonder if you
haven┤t heard dz&k groves somewhere, sometime, without really
knowing it was their music you`re listening to. following this
string of successes came the release of the single "before/after",
a prequel to the upcoming dz&k album, "freaks & icons".the album, a
merciless piece of music brought back from their london and
istanbul sessions, sold out almost before it was available. not
content to rock the cabash, there promptly followed the releases of
the single "tearoom 2004" and the "before/after" remixes. the
"before/after" remixes, an apetizer served by herbert and atjazz,
were the introduction to dz&k┤s latest release :the dz&k remix
album "refreaked" including reworks by ufo, hefner, herbert, fauna
flash , atjazz...
