│ The dark & brooding sound of Namesis debuts on Soma with the Rave Is
│ Dead EP. Taking inspiration from various electronic disciplines such a
│ new beat, EBM and even industrial, Namesis have collected a solid
│ release consisting of superbly crafted dark, synth driven music.
│
│ The EPs opening track Blade Runner, a collaboration with Corvad, has
│ dark and futuristic overtones as jarring synths rip at the heart of the
│ track with serious intensity. Lies Around leans on more industrial
│ vibes with ominous sweeping pads screeching across a base of distorted
│ synths and crashing percussion. Title Track Rave Is Dead is a sinister
│ and dread inducing trip as a direct beat drives a hard message. Call Me
│ Out feat the vocal stylings of Sunko is a more paced affair that still
│ caries the twisted sounds of Namesis, with a broken beat and
│ apocalyptic feel present from the opening. Whispers in the Dark closes
│ out this unique release for Soma as polyrhythmic synths and epic vocals
│ create a higher atmosphere whilst still retaining the foreboding sound
│ of Namesis.
