Keeping strong all the way as ever is 100% Silk and following the
debut of Etari, the Los Angeles label welcomes aboard the new age
sounds of Denver's Dubharp. Exploring a percussive, water-rimmed
paradise of half soundtrack music half exotica, Spiral Heights even
brings with it a collaboration with Lee Scratch Perry in "Bamboo
Cross". With parallels to be made with the rhythms heard in the music
of Geinoh Yamashirogumi (Akira soundtrack) there is a deftly positive
feeling permeating the classic sound of '80s inspired synth music
alongside tacit themes invoking Gaia, Japan and a castle somewhere in
the clouds. Total dub.
