::| Psy-trance project MutantStar was formed in the year 2000 by two |::
::| members of Demimonde alliance which is the old coalition of artists |::
::| formed in 90┤s around Prague┤s underground scene. Demimonde┤s debut CD, |::
::| released by Epidemie Records (00), simply determined the music style we |::
::| wanted to engage in for the future. Featuring in Demimonde enabled us |::
::| to move around in the (more or less) underground music society. |::
::| Considering the diversity and outspokenness of that scene and the |::
::| people who made it we got into - after some time - at first Goa and |::
::| then Psy-trance music ... The other important impulse was a real "tide" |::
::| of Goa recordings delivered by our friends and relatives who were |::
::| travelling a lot to Goa and bringing us back the then Goa-trance |::
::| (96-97) (ie The Sound of Goa Party)... we also remember the Trancentral |::
::| compilation (1-7) that has influenced us a lot, Psychadelic Trip To Goa |::
::| (in fact it was the very first and very good! compilation work of |::
::| st@lker.cz, our friend, who is doing perfect graphics and video |::
::| recordings for us for quite a long time. |::
::| |::
::| After the recording process of Demimonde - Mutant Star CD we started to |::
::| work on a psy-trance project of that name. Even if we attend to psy and |::
::| goa since 2000, we have some interseting experiences with electronic |::
::| music. Afagddu began around 95┤ with industrial / dark ambient project |::
::| of the same name and released some of his then-production ... ie demo |::
::| tapes "The Womb (96)" or "Bodytorium (97)" which were released as a |::
::| demo at Afagddu┤s own expense :) ... Ankhabut began bit later, but with |::
::| more positive influence :) ... he very often participates on music with |::
::| other musicians .... |::
::| |::
::| The first year of MutantStar could be desribed as an improvisation with |::
::| sounds, rhytms, mixing techniques and psy music structure. Live gigs |::
::| were held in friend circles and were rather unofficial :) (deadly freak |::
::| experience in Bilichov 2001). In the end of 01 was the beginning of a |::
::| quite funny time we have now! We have been working as a two-member |::
::| project until now and we also hope in the future ... we are: Menef |::
::| (Ankhabut) and Marek (Afagddu). |::
::| |::
::| After some time we bought our own sound - system and all the (ok ... |::
::| not all yet :) technical things we needed besides to make ourselves |::
::| independent. Music is made in studio using our Novation K-station and |::
::| Yamaha synths, Yamaha sampler, Yamaha Mixer (8 stereo / 16 mono). We |::
::| try to use other various keyboards, synths and peripherials (Acces |::
::| Virus and Akai MPC2000), sometimes we apply to live instruments (bass |::
::| and solo guitars). We use powerfull Marshall and Hocke amplifiers, |::
::| Systym, Rega and EV repro. For music production and practising we use |::
::| PCs and NBs with Cubase SX2 (and many plugins), Reason (and many sound |::
::| banks, refills etc.), Logic Audio (thanks for Kozmo┤s professional |::
::| tunning :) and tuns of other software (WaveLab, SoundForge ...) and |::
::| anything that gets to our hands :) The most important process is the |::
::| creating of sounds, which is sometimes more like "sound hunt" or a pure |::
::| and very condemnable ..... "poach" :) |::
::| Our philosophy is based on numerous experiences from each party. Our |::
::| friends usually travel with us, who have been following us for a long |::
::| time all around in space and together they make nice atmosphere not |::
::| just during the gig by itself but during the whole action, we are |::
::| grateful to it, thanks. That is also why we prefer small and free |::
::| actions but we are open also to bigger and well organised ones. For |::
::| playing on small and free parties we do not take any money (except of |::
::| travel expences), at bigger parties, where there's usually a budget for |::
::| artists, we are free to it. It is not a rule, of course it depends on |::
::| agreement with the organiser. We prefer live acting to being closed in |::
::| studio and practise :)) so feel free to contact us if you are about to |::
::| give a party wherevever in the space ;) In Czech we participate in a |::
::| lot of parties mainly with Hedonix crew and Sonic Distortion, whose |::
::| parties have overall a very high standard and we like it very much, |::
::| thanks. There are also other people and friends we wouldn┤t like to |::
