Born in Dublin, raised gypsy style in southern Spain, Sian, aka
Graham Goodwin has worked in music since the age of 17. Now 28, he
has produced and released electronic music consistently and now
treads the scene with his debut release on Karmarouge. By listening
to his 'Gypsy Life EP', it soon becomes clear that Sian knows very
well how to compose minimalistic ambient and melodic pads. He relates
with only a few but continuous sound variations to complete musical
textures to a subtle adventure and presents us his definition of
deliciously balanced dub techno tunes. The A-side track 'Grixle'
comes among a heavy bass line ensnared by peculiar and intoxicating
sounds and avails itselsf structurally of the basic rules of
functionality. 'Zeroid flight' on the B-side is a freaky trippin' and
energetic analog workout in a brilliant clear melodic robe. With a
hypnotizing melody the track seems to wave playfully towards an weird
afterhour mood. The phenomenal and beautiful second B-side tune 'R U
aware' succeeds more deeper in dub and lets each Karmarouges fan
heart strike higher. Sian proofs with this soulful harmonic track his
deep understanding for filigrane dub techno harmonies. Very, very
sweet and wishful without any touch of trash that carries one very
relaxed through the early morning hours. A perfect dream!
